Day 15-16: 2018-08-10 to 26 Montenegro, Bonsia, Croatia, Solvenia, Turkey Tour

Day 15-16. 24-25.08. Breakfast and check out. Visit Skocjan (UNESCO) cave full tour. (2+1 hours). 

Drive to Ljubljana. Take the funicular railway to the Ljubljana Castle. 

Take the short centre walk to Prešeren Square in Ljubljana. Start thundering and very dark in the afternoon. 

Sudden hailstorm in the way to airport. Flight delay for 3 hours and sadly that cannot catch up with the connected flight back home. An unexpected one more day stay in Istanbul, Turkey.

Day 14: 2018-08-10 to 26 Montenegro, Bonsia, Croatia, Solvenia, Turkey Tour

Day 14. 23.08. Breakfast and check out. Short drive down Soca River to Tolmin where we take the Rafting in the morning (booked yesterday). The water is clean but very cold. 

Visit the 15-metre-high Kozjak Waterfall . Lunch in Pizzeria Soca, Tolmin. 

Then visit Tolmin gorges. Take 2 hours easy circular trail with interest points such as the wedged rock, The Devil’s Bridge, 60 metres high above the Tolminka River, the cave of Zadlaška jama, the thermal spring under the Devil’s bridge, the Confluence of the Tolminka and the Zadlaščica etc. 

Accommodation in Apartments Bobi, 2xtriple studio,  one bedroom apartment for 2 persons.  Tree with fruits (free of charge). 

Thundering at night and no night photography.

Day 13: 22.08.Breakfast. Full day in Bovec area (West Julian Alps). Take the cable car. 

Hike hardly to visit the Prestreljeniško okno (2,390 m), an incredible natural hole between Slovenian-Italian border with steep rocky arch on the Prestreljenik mountain (2,499 m). 

Sadly to loss my watch in hiking. Visit the great Canyon of Soca River again. Feel the cold icy water of the river. 

Taste the Solvenia red wine in the dinner. Free concert in the small town at night.

Day 12: 2018-08-10 to 26 Montenegro, Bonsia, Croatia, Solvenia, Turkey Tour

Day 12: 21.08. Breakfast and check out. Drive to Bovec with scenic view stops (Slovenia, Italy). Unfortunately, today is too cloudy. 

First to see the Russian Chapel on the Vršič Pass. This is a Russian Orthodox chapel located on the northern side of the Vršič Pass. 

When drive up to the pass, see many young cyclists climb to the mountain. Short hike in the pass to see many sheep. 

After lunch, visit the waterfall and closely see the great Canyon of Soca river. 

Thundering in late afternoon and heavily rain. Visit the Bovec small town. Enjoy the homemade dinner tonight. 

Overnight – Garni hotel Bovec, 2 nights, 2 x junior suit. End of Day 12.

Day 11: 2018-08-10 to 26 Montenegro, Bonsia, Croatia, Solvenia, Turkey Tour

Day 11: 20.08. Breakfast. Full day in Bohinj area with cable car and tracks at Vogel. 

Hiking from 1550m to Mountain Sija, 1880m. 

Back to the valley before the Gondola stop. Hike up again to the Savica waterfall in late afternoon. 

Before sunset, take photo near to Bohinj lake. 

Dinner in the small down of Bohinj. End of Day 11.

Day 10: 2018-08-10 to 26 Montenegro, Bonsia, Croatia, Solvenia, Turkey Tour

Day10: 19.08. Breakfast, archery and check out. 

Drive to Bled and tour of the Castle, Lake, Island... 

Continue drive deeper in to (East) Julian Alps to Bohinj Lake.

Free time. Overnight Resje guesthouse - 2 nights BB - 1xbasic triple, 1xtriple with balcony, 1xbasic twin. End of Day 10.

Day 9: 2018-08-10 to 26 Montenegro, Bonsia, Croatia, Solvenia, Turkey Tour

Day 9: 18.08. Full day in Logar. Breakfast and morning scenery drive in the Solčava Panoramic Road. 

Hike 2 hours with return to the cave which locate almost at the top of the mountain. The track is steep and across the country to Austria. 

After visiting cave, hike down and lunch in the mountain. 


Another hike with 1.5 hours return to the Rinka Fall in the afternoon. 

Take postcard picture near to the car entrance of the Valley. 

Early dinner in the small town. Stay at Gradisnik. Logar Valley is beautiful and peaceful.

Day 8: 2018-08-10 to 26 Montenegro, Bonsia, Croatia, Solvenia, Turkey Tour

Day 8: 17.08. Spectacular sunrise landscape in Plitvice.

Breakfast and check out. Drive to Slovenia and Logar valley, rest. Traffic jam for 2 hours across the border. Crowed with cars cars of western European countries such as Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France etc. 

Overnight at Gradisnik, a wonderful mountaintop ranch. 2 nights B - 2 quad apartments. 

Soup prepared by the host is delicious.  

End of day 8.

Day 7: 2018-08-10 to 26 Montenegro, Bonsia, Croatia, Solvenia, Turkey Tour

Day 7: 16.08. Landscape photography at sunrise. 

Breakfast. Full day in Plitvice lakes for track, explore and rest till dark. 

Extremely overcrowded and exhausted. 



Overnight in Plitvice.

Day 6: 15.08. Walk across the pier to the castle at sunrise.  

See church procession after breakfast in the pretty small Island. 

Check out and short drive to Split for tour with local guide, Mario. 

Drive to Plitvice with a look of the Krka Nature Park. 

Overnight in Plitvice – Vila Knezevic - 2 nights BB - 2xquad rooms. Play football with foreign youngster.  End of Day 6.
